Tom Hiddleston dons Loki costume to lord it over children’s classroom for Comedy Central spot

He’s received a cult following since playing the nefarious Norse god Loki in Thor and The Avengers.

And Tom Hiddleston donned his wig and costume to lord over a children’s classroom in a teaser for a Comedy Central special airing Tuesday night.

The preview shows the 32-year-old Englishman sitting awkwardly on a beanbag chair between four captive seven-year-olds in a parody of AT&T’s It’s Not Complicated spots.

‘I’m Loki of Asgard,’ the Marvel Comics villain ominously announces.

Suddenly a curly-haired girl raises her arm and tops the super-villain by exclaiming: ‘I’m Diana of New Jersey.’

The adopted brother of Thor then defeatedly sighs and rolls his eyes before stating: ‘We’ll be friends, that’s fine.’

Hiddleston has been on a whirlwind publicity tour for Thor: The Dark World.

The action film – due out November 8 – also stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Stellan Skarsgård, Kat Dennings, and Anthony Hopkins.

In it, the hammer-wielding superhero desperately needs his wayward brother’s help against a new evil, the dark elf Malekeith (Christopher Eccleston).

The just-released Comedy Central spot featuring young children seems a bit ironic for the sequel rated PG-13.

However, Tom’s character is clearly a major hit with the younger generation having scored a Kids’ Choice Awards nod for favorite villain.

On Halloween, the War Horse actor surprised 300 kids at a sneak preview of Thor 2 for two children’s charities at the AMC Empire 25 in New York’s Times Square.

‘It was amazing,’ Hiddleston told the New York Daily News.

‘To see that enthusiasm, to see them clap and cheer, wearing Loki T-shirts and swinging hammers, that was really gratifying.’

And back in July, Tom showed up in character as Loki at San Diego ComicCon’s Hall H.

‘Humanity, look how far you’ve fallen,’ Loki hissed at the roaring crowd.

‘Lining up in the sweltering heat for hours. Huddling together in the dark like beasts! Where are your Avengers now?’

The London-born thespian will play someone called the ‘Great Escapo’ in the star-studded jewel-heist caper, Muppets Most Wanted, coming out March 21.

But the Midnight in Paris star will next tackle William Shakespeare’s Coriolanus beginning December 6 at the Donmar Warehouse and Covent Garden Theatre.
